Makayla Phillips was 15 years old and still in school when she walked onto the America’s Got Talent stage. She came with her mom, her dad and her brother, and the rest of her friends and family were cheering from the audience.
She chose “Warrior” by Demi Lovato, a song about pain, strength and taking your life back. Her voice was big and steady from the first line, and she sang every word like she meant it. 🎶
Heidi Klum told her she was absolutely incredible and that she loved the whole package, from her smile to her voice. Then she said she had just found the winner and pressed the Golden Buzzer, sending Makayla straight to the live shows. Simon added that it was a really difficult song and praised her presence and confidence.
Gold confetti filled the stage as her family rushed out to hug her. For a 15-year-old, it was a night she will never forget. ❤️
