Noah Guthrie walked onto the America’s Got Talent stage with a guitar in hand and a very different kind of energy from the usual audition. The singer-songwriter, who had already built an audience through YouTube and appeared on Glee, was ready to show the judges what he could really do.
When he began performing Rihanna’s “Love on the Brain,” his gritty, soulful voice immediately changed the atmosphere in the room. The combination of his guitar playing and distinctive vocal style gave the familiar song a completely different character.
The judges listened closely as Noah continued, and the performance quickly became more than just another audition. By the time he finished, the response from the judges made it clear that he had made a serious impression.
All four judges ultimately voted yes, sending him through to the next round.
