Georgie Carroll was born in Rochdale, but these days she lives in Australia, and she flew all the way back to the UK for her Britain’s Got Talent audition ✈️.
When the judges asked what she does for a living, she told them she is a nurse and has been a registered nurse since 2000. The audience burst into applause. But Georgie was not there to talk about hospitals. She loves making people laugh.
Her set was all about her teenage boys. They swear a lot, she said, and they are prone to kicking off, a bit like having Gordon Ramsay trapped in a child’s body. Still, teenagers are her favourite category of human, because their self esteem is so much bigger than their skill set 😄.
Then came the story everyone remembered. Georgie said she had found a foolproof way to lecture a teenager: trap them somewhere they cannot escape but still feel safe. The car wash 🚗.
She took her son through it for a little talk about hygiene. When she asked what he thought comes after puberty, he answered “adultery”. With three minutes left on the wash and her son not listening anyway, she simply rolled the window down. He got a wash.
The judges were in tears. One said she absolutely loved it and joked she would never go through a car wash again, another said she was roaring, and Georgie walked off with four yeses 🎉.
