Terry Winstanley is 51 and works as a driver for a scaffolding company, taking equipment to building sites. He told The X Factor that he had been singing since he was a kid, but music slipped out of his life when he married young, at 21, and the children came along early.
When the kids grew up, he realized what he had been missing. By then he was in his thirties and thought he was too old, so he gave it up. Before his audition he admitted he had not slept properly for a week, and he called it a huge day for him.
He chose a Michael Bolton classic 🎶 and sang it with a smooth, soulful voice that surprised everyone in the room. The audience was on his side from the very first lines.
The judges were blown away. One judge admitted not expecting that at all and told him it is never too late, calling him living proof of that. Another said Terry had blown them out of the water. Terry walked away with a string of yeses and his dream back in his life ❤️.
