This month began with a significant development for the British royal family.
In honor of the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games, Prince Harry touched down in London. While he was there, his brother, Prince William, was bestowed with a noteworthy new title by King Charles. Though many perceived it as a significant slight to Prince Harry, the timing appeared to be coincidental.
King Charles III has named Prince William the colonel-in-chief of the Army Air Corps, according to a statement from the Palace.
According to a statement from the palace, “His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales will officially take over the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps from His Majesty the King.””The King was happy to announce military appointments in August 2023, including the Prince of Wales as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, following His Majesty’s Accession. For thirty-one years, His Majesty the King served in that capacity as Prince of Wales.

William now oversees Harry’s previous unit in his new position. Harry finished his Pilot’s Selection Board interview and Army Air Corps “Grading” in 2008. He began training to become an Army Air Corps pilot in 2009.
Prior to his removal from the official royal family website, Prince Harry’s official biography stated, “After successfully completing that Army Pilots Course, he was chosen to train on the Apache Attack Helicopter.””It was announced that Prince Harry had received his father’s provisional wings on the same day.”Harry found greater significance in the ceremony because Charles was the Army Air Corps’ colonel-in-chief at the time.

The public’s interest in Prince William’s new title has grown recently, in part due to the strained relationship between Prince Harry and his father. The intricate nature of royal ties is highlighted by speculation on the nature of their interactions—or lack thereof—during Prince Harry’s most recent trip to the United Kingdom.
Harry’s father, King Charles, was unable to meet with him during his most recent visit because of the king’s “full programme.”
Prince Harry did, however, add in his statement that he “hopes to see him soon.”

Even though Harry didn’t get along well with the Firm members, he was happy to be going back to the UK. He called the celebration “amazing” and complimented Scotty’s efforts, highlighting the amazing and vital support they offer to kids.

Harry stated, as quoted by the BBC, “The more opportunities you get to do these kinds of events, the more the families and kids know this place exists, which is really the most important thing.”
