A Brother and Sister Waited 5 Years to See Their Mom Again, Then Sang for Her on Canada’s Got Talent

Esther and Ezekiel on Canada's Got Talent

Esther, 17, and her brother Ezekiel, 13, were born in Kampala, Uganda. When Esther was 11 and Ezekiel was 7, their mom left the country to build a new life for them, and the family was separated for five years.

Through all that time, their mom was still their music teacher. Over the phone she coached them and told them to make every song their own. A year before their audition, the family was finally reunited in Canada. 💛

The siblings said they wanted to win so they could give their mom some time off work. Then they sang “No Air,” blending their voices in perfect harmony, and followed it with “You Are the Reason.”

The audience cheered as their voices rose together, and the performance became a thank you to the woman who never stopped teaching them, even from thousands of miles away. ✨
