Sue Son and Janine were 23, best friends since school and partners in a semi-classical duo called Addicted. Janine played keyboards and wrote their piece, “Chance”, while Sue played electric violin. On the Britain’s Got Talent stage in Birmingham, it did not work.
One judge said they were both talented, especially Sue, but the two did not go together and the song felt dreary and indulgent. The answer was no. Then the judges called Sue back and asked her to return the next day alone.
Torn by loyalty to her best friend, Sue was speechless before finally saying yes. The next day she told the judges she and Janine were still best friends, then played solo. 🎻
The judges called it phenomenal and said that on talent alone she was one of the best they had seen. Three yeses followed, and Sue said she was so happy she took her second chance. ❤️
