Fans’ response to Sarah Jessica Parker’s embrace of her gray hair was anything but favorable.
Despite her confidence in her natural appearance, critics were eager to point out their differences. Though Parker remained steadfast in her conviction that everyone should do what makes them feel secure, reactions to her decision to dye her hair later on improved.
While on vacation from shooting And Just Like That, Parker was spotted in New York City in July 2021, dining with her buddy Andy Cohen while sporting a gray braid in her hair.
Despite her liking her hair natural, she received scathing criticism from the public, with some suggesting she appeared much older than her 56 years of age. Readers of the Daily Mail also expressed disapproval, with some saying that gray wasn’t a “good look” on her and that she looked much older. Parker maintained her natural hair for a while before eventually going back to colored hair, in spite of the negative remarks.
In September 2023, Parker and her spouse, Matthew Broderick, attended an event in London, where Parker’s gorgeous green gown caught everyone’s attention. Even still, some followers were more interested in her hair; one said she looked “much better” now that she was no longer wearing gray.
Despite the public’s obsession with Parker’s aging appearance, Parker has continuously argued that individuals should follow their own intuition without fear of criticism.
