Faryl Smith was only 12 when she came to Britain’s Got Talent, and she said winning would mean everything to her. She was so excited about it that she learned nothing in her math lesson that week.
For weeks she had practiced every night after school in her bedroom. Her mum, a hairdresser, would come in and tell her whether it sounded good or bad, and her dad, a health and safety officer, came to listen too. 🎶
Backstage she said she had been excited but was now nervous. On stage she told the judges she would sing “Ave Maria,” and the moment she began, her clear, mature voice filled the theatre.
The audience could hardly believe such a powerful classical voice came from a 12-year-old. The judges were clearly impressed, and the whole room cheered for her. ❤️
