Paige Thomas, 21, from San Antonio, Texas, came to The X Factor USA in 2012 with her 3-year-old daughter waiting backstage. She grew up singing to a Britney Spears poster on her wall and could not wait to perform for her.
When Simon asked about her plans, she became emotional. She explained she had been studying nursing because she needed a steady way to provide for her daughter. 💔
Then she sang Mary J. Blige’s “I’m Going Down,” and the crowd was on its feet.
Britney called her bright, beautiful and flawless. L.A. Reid said she reminded him of a young Rihanna, and Demi called her a superstar. Simon said he loved that she looks and sounds like a pop star while taking her responsibility as a mom seriously, and called it one of his favorite auditions ever. She left with four yeses. 🌟
