Eduardo Antonio Trevino may have been one of the youngest performers on the America’s Got Talent stage, but his audition showed why age doesn’t always tell you how experienced a singer can be. The 11-year-old mariachi soloist from Houston had already spent most of his childhood developing his voice, beginning to sing when he was only three.
For his AGT audition, Eduardo performed with a mariachi group and delivered a Spanish-language performance filled with confidence and emotion. Rather than looking intimidated by the enormous stage, he appeared completely comfortable in front of the audience and judges.
His vocal control became one of the biggest highlights. Eduardo demonstrated that he could hold powerful notes while maintaining the energy needed to carry the performance. The judges noticed immediately. Sofia, Heidi, Howie, and Simon all praised different aspects of his performance, with Simon describing him as a natural talent and a proper lead singer.
By the end, there was no debate. Eduardo received four yes votes and continued his AGT journey.
