The past few months have been difficult for Bruce Willis and his devoted family. Readers are undoubtedly well aware of the A-lister’s diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia, a progressive brain disorder that has made him retire from the public eye, maybe permanently.
In spite of the fact that much has been said about the love and support Bruce’s family provided for him through his most difficult time, recent reports paint an unsettling image of Tallulah, the star’s daughter’s, mental health.
Radar Online reports that as her father’s condition continues to deteriorate, the Willis family is becoming more concerned about Tallulah’s mental health.
Bruce Willis’s family announced earlier this year that the Die Hard actor had been given a dementia diagnosis. After the news spread, his daughter Scout sent an especially moving letter in which she expressed her “overwhelm” at the situation.
Following a formal aphasia diagnosis, Willis announced his retirement from acting in March of last year. His capacity to speak was apparently affected, among other things, making it harder for him to function on set.
His previously announced diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia was made public in February 2023. The Willis family has undoubtedly had challenges in the days, weeks, and months that have passed since that time, and according to recent reports, they may now be facing more difficulties.
Tallulah, the daughter Bruce and actress Demi Moore share, reportedly confessed to having an eating disorder after being dumped by her fiancé Dillon Buss just three months after her father’s aphasia diagnosis.
Tallulah’s illness has not received much attention since that time, despite the fact that it is now being asserted that Bruce was aware of his daughter’s suffering.
According to a source, as reported by Radar, “Bruce could see her wasting away and it only made his own problems worse.”
The insider continued, “Bruce was broken when he observed Tallulah’s suffering.
The family reached the conclusion that it would be best if they avoided each other at all costs.
Tallulah herself acknowledged that she had entered a hospital after parting ways with Dillon. She was given a borderline personality disorder diagnosis there.
Tallulah recently shared her difficulties with body dysmorphia in an open essay for Vogue, explaining how they started when she started taking ADHD medication.
When Tallulah took her prescription, “I felt smart for the first time,” she added, “but I also started to love the appetite-suppressing side effect of the meds. I spotted a method to replace the uncomfortable adolescent with a flitting little pixie. My perception of myself also became wildly out of control, like so many others with eating problems.
When reducing weight quickly, there is an unhealthy sweetness at the beginning. ‘Oh wow!’ they exclaim. The question soon shifts to “Are you okay?” I ignored the fear among my friends and family.
“By the spring of 2022, I weighed about 84 lbs.,” the 29-year-old continued. I was usually cold. In my Los Angeles area, I was asking mobile IV teams to come to my home because I was scared I wouldn’t have anywhere to sit down and recover my breath.
Let’s hope Tallulah receives all the support she needs so she can fully recover. Given that she also has to deal with her father’s own health difficulties, we can only image the challenging situation she is in.
