Ava Swiss walked onto the America’s Got Talent stage carrying a deeply personal story. The 18-year-old singer chose Lauren Daigle’s “Remember”, a song that held special meaning for her after surviving the 2021 shooting at Oxford High School in Michigan.
Rather than allowing the difficult experience to define her appearance, Ava used music as a way to focus on the good she remembered—her family, her community, and the people who supported her. That emotional connection was evident throughout the performance.
Her vocals quickly became the center of attention. The judges watched closely as her voice grew more powerful, while the audience became visibly moved by the combination of her story and delivery. When she finished, the room responded with a standing ovation, and all four judges voted yes.
Simon Cowell described it as an audition he would never forget. Ava had arrived with a story of hardship, but she left the stage showing something much more powerful: resilience, hope, and a voice capable of reaching an entire room.
