Erica Rhodes walked onto the America’s Got Talent stage in a white top and with a soft, gentle voice. She told the judges she was from Boston. When they asked if she was nervous, she admitted she was a little, and that she was surprised by herself for being there. She said this was the biggest thing she had ever done.
Then she started her stand up set. She joked that she dressed for the job she wants, a participation trophy wife. She talked about getting her heart broken by the same guy for the fifteenth time and about dating a rich man who would show her his house in the woods and then wonder why she was not excited about a house that was not hers 😂.
Her quiet, shy style made every joke land even harder, and the audience laughed from start to finish.
Sofia said she wanted to be surprised and she really was, adding that she thinks Erica is her favorite comedian she has seen on AGT and that she should be on a sitcom. Another judge called her brilliant, real and relatable. A third judge said the bit about the house in the woods really made them laugh. Erica had been doing comedy for 12 years, and that night she walked off with four yeses 🌟.
