You’ve Never Heard Anything Like This! Simon Was Shocked!

Scotland’s 14-year-old Paige Turley entered the Britain’s Got Talent stage with a nervous energy that the judges could sense right away. Her endearing admission that she was frequently caught skipping school when questioned about her history resulted in a lighthearted exchange with the judges. Despite her anxiety, she had a clear goal in mind: to perform on a big platform. She made a difficult and unexpected song selection that was sure to be one-of-a-kind.

Paige sang a cover of Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love” at her audition. Her performance was outstanding from the first note. She did more than simply perform the song; she gave it a dramatic and profoundly emotional performance that was wholly original to her. All four judges were impressed by the maturity and uniqueness of her sound, which instantly silenced the room with her vocal control and peculiar, intriguing tone.

Paige received unanimous acclaim from the judges. David Walliams said she sounded and looked like a “pop star,” while Alesha Dixon described her performance as “adorable” and “refreshing.” Noting that she didn’t make a direct copy and had a “really, really interesting unique voice,” even the typically critical Simon Cowell praised her original rendition of the song. Paige’s potential as a star was demonstrated by the four strong “yes” votes she received.
