😲😵 The driver began complimenting me and making advances. I was shocked when I showed him my tummy, but I could hardly believe what he said next.
The doctor said everything was going well and that I would finally meet my kid in 10 days, so I was heading home after another check-up. Names, blankets, and the cradle were all swirling in my head, but I was delighted.
Then all of a sudden, the brakes shriek. A car slid up next to me, and a kind voice spoke through the window: “Miss, are you aware that you appear to be a Renoir painting from behind?”
I blinked. Perhaps he wasn’t speaking to me? I checked, but there was nobody. It was all aimed at me, a nine-month pregnant lady, I realized.
I surprised the man by showing him my wedding band. He merely grinned. I then turned sideways so he could see my large belly in a half-joking manner. By the way, it’s the ninth month!
But rather of leaving in his car, he grinned even more:
— What the heck? Come with me on a date!
I wasn’t sure if I should blush or become upset. To be honest, I was a little flattered that someone still considered me a lady and not simply a “future mom”! I nevertheless gave a firm response:
— Do you not see that I am expecting? I have 10 days before my baby is born!
😯😱 He narrowed his eyes, stared directly at my stomach, and whispered something that nearly caused the flowers to fall out of my grasp. I kept blinking, wondering if I had actually heard him or if it was all in my head.
He appeared to notice my belly at last. “All right,” I thought, “he’ll apologize and go now.”
Instead, though, he seemed to sense something in the air that he couldn’t quite put his finger on.
He scratched his head, shrugged, and spoke slowly, saying: — So… in ten days
I stiffened a little, expecting him to say something ridiculous.
Then, as though addressing himself, he added:
However, it will be better in fifteen days. It will be more tranquil.
Then, with a little smirk, he answered bluntly, “Well then,” as though he had just made up his mind. In fifteen days, let’s meet. What are your thoughts?
Stunned and not believing what I was hearing, I stood there. My mind was spinning with questions such, “Is this really happening to me?!” and I was laughing.
