After rescuing a girl who was drowning in the river and taking her home, a former prisoner’s residence began to make unusual noises and screams that night 
The man was finally released from prison after ten years. He was charged with the murder of an innocent person. However, he persisted in denying that he had done anything. He claimed to be innocent, but nobody took him seriously. He was the target of all the evidence, and his fingerprints were discovered at the scene.
He didn’t go back to his hometown after being freed because his family had abandoned him for a long time. Instead, he bought a tiny house by the river, reared chickens, grew potatoes, and lived quietly. He was feared and shunned by the villagers. When they spotted him, some people crossed the street, while others didn’t even say hello. Everyone believed he was dangerous and had the potential to kill someone again.
He was tending to his yard one day when he heard a piercing scream:
— “Assist!”
He sprinted in the direction of the river. There was a young woman in the water, straining to remain afloat. The ex-offender immediately dove in, hauled her out, placed her on the grass, and started doing CPR. After coughing, the girl opened her eyes.
After bringing her home, he took off her damp clothes, wrapped her in a blanket, and served her hot soup. The girl had calmed down and gone to sleep by evening.
However, his dwelling was the source of weird noises and cries that the neighbors heard during the night. A woman was screaming, someone was calling for aid.
The neighbors rose, gathered ropes, shovels, and lanterns, and made their way to his house. They were certain that the man had killed someone else.
— “You see? One of the men remarked, “We had good reason to be terrified of him.
Everyone was surprised by what they saw when they cautiously approached the window and peered inside
There was a red pool all around the girl as she lay on the floor. With a rag in his hand, the man stood next to her. He was trying to halt the bleeding by applying pressure to her side. Someone yelled:
— “He killed her!”
— “We were aware of it! A person never changes once they take a life!
They tackled the man to the ground, tied him up, and someone called the police. However, upon closer inspection, one of the men saw that the girl’s quiet breathing had not stopped.
She had been seriously injured when she fell into the river, it turned out. As she slept through the night, the wound resurfaced.
No one paid attention when the ex-inmate yelled for them to summon an ambulance. Everyone judged him for his history — no one even realized that he was merely trying to help.
Not knowing what to say, everyone stood in silence in front of his house the following morning.
