When the burglars discovered something horrifying inside the elderly woman’s home, they panicked and left
Burglaries had been occurring in the neighborhood nearly daily lately.
The residents had long since understood one thing: if you want to safeguard your house from robbers, make it look like someone’s home.
They might turn on the radio, leave the lights on, or even play a clip of a barking dog repeatedly before they left.
However, the robbers were not foolish. They were aware of these techniques and spent days monitoring homes to make sure they were indeed vacant.
They once witnessed an elderly woman exit a dilapidated wooden house, climb into a taxi, and leave.
The dust and silence on the porch spoke all, even if the light inside was still on.
“Perfect target,” the robbers believed.
They kept an eye on the house for two days; no one entered or left, and the elderly woman never came back.
They made the decision to act that evening. Two men in masks came to the window late at night.
Not through the door, one murmured. – An alarm has gone off. You take the bedroom, and I’ll go to the living room.
The other gave a nod and used a bat to smash the glass. They climbed in cautiously.
However, the robbers fled in terror after seeing something so terrible inside the house, without taking anything
The house was silent and dusty. A hunting rifle fitted with a handmade trigger exploded into the wall as soon as one of them set foot on the groaning floor.
They both froze.
— What was that?
— A fucking trap
While they were trying to move silently, one of them bumped into an almost imperceptible cable.
The bullet zipped inches from them as another shot rang out.
Every corner could be their last, and the air was heavy with the smell of gunpowder.
Panic seized over.
The one with the bat ran toward the window but tripped on another wire.
Another shot exploded right next to him, and there was a click above his head.
They leaped out in terror and fled without turning around.
Police sirens were already audible as the robbers fled down the street, gasping in terror; the alarm having been set off by the motion sensor attached to the elderly woman’s phone.
“My husband hunted,” the elderly woman explained coolly. I only made minor improvements to his security system.
