I believed that everything was at last fine. I had found someone I believed I could trust to take care of my son after a difficult time.
However, I was unaware that she had her own goals.
This guy, who was meant to watch over him, was making lunch for my son one day as I was leaving my wife to take care of other things on the way home from work. Everything appeared to be typical. My son was sitting in his high chair, waiting for his first bite.
As I went to assist him, our German Shepherd, who is usually very calm, began growling and obstructing my path.
With sudden force and speed, he jumped, toppling the plate the woman had just set on the table. There was food all over the floor.
I initially believed he was trying to eat it, but no. After knocking over the plate, he calmed down 😱
Was my dog going crazy? My heart was pounding. However, after observing his actions, I understood that he was attempting to defend rather than attack. As though alerting me to some unseen threat, he moved the spoon away softly and gazed insistently at the food.
I was so shocked when I finally saw what was in the plate 😱
The drug the babysitter had added was intended to help my kid sleep longer, but it may have put him in danger and caused terrible harm.
My son might have swallowed something dangerous if the dog hadn’t reacted and I hadn’t come right away.
Our German Shepherd turned into a silent hero who protected my son when we couldn’t, and he became much more than just a pet after that day.
I’ve never had the same perspective on my dog since. Every time I see him close to my son, I know he is keeping an eye on him and is prepared to take action to safeguard what is most important.
