Although my kid began talking at a young age, people frequently couldn’t understand her statements.
She made everyone laugh with one of her lines on the bus one day.
Although there weren’t many people, every seat was taken.
A few stops later, an old woman boarded the bus.
She was standing, and my daughter took a moment to observe her.
Then she stood up and yelled:
“Sit in my place, Grandma!”
Her gesture moved the woman, who sat down and grinned.
Then, proudly, my daughter added:
“I always give up to the half-dead, as my mother taught me to do.”
The woman was somewhat perplexed and attempted to ascertain my daughter’s precise meaning.
I told her my kid had mispronounced the words and meant “to elderly people” instead.
The bus erupted in laughter, as did the woman.
Despite not understanding what was happening, my daughter was happy that her gesture was well received by everyone.
