After the elderly widow abandoned her crippled husband in the jungle without food or drink, a hungry wolf discovered him at night, and an unexpected event occurred
As she gazed at her husband’s lifeless body resting on the trolley, the elderly widow wiped her weary forehead. He had been unable to move from his improvised straw bed for a long time, eat without assistance, or speak; all he could do was breathe deeply and gaze at the ceiling with clouded eyes.
Her marriage had been a burden to her for a long time. He had once been a strong guy, a provider, and a guardian. But he had lost everything because of the years. Now, he gave nothing in return and just ate the last of the food.
After chopping wood one day, the elderly woman decided she could take no more of the complaints and restless nights. She pulled her husband onto the cart, led him far into the forest where wolves were said to reside, and then abandoned him beneath an old, parched oak tree.
“Pardon me, old fellow,” she whispered dryly, “I can’t handle it any longer. If you can, live.
She then departed.
The old guy realized he was alone when the final squeak of the wheels vanished into the distance. All by myself. Among ravenous wolves in the middle of the forest.
His bones were penetrated by the cold. The night air pricked his skin, and the ground was wet and freezing.
A lump formed in his throat. His voice was gone, and he was unable to yell. He just lay there, peering through the branches at the dark sky. He dreamed of a drop of water because he was hungry.
But all of a sudden, he heard a terrible sound.
Softly at first, like the snapping of a twig or the rustle of paws. Then nearer. One at a time, followed by more. heavy footsteps. Was it a wolf howling, or was it the wind?
The elderly man was truly afraid. His heart felt like it was about to explode. Wolves. She had abandoned him there to be torn to pieces by the wolves.
Abruptly, a figure appeared out of the shadows. It was big, grey, and had bright eyes where a chilly fire danced. A wolf.
The wolf stared at him and froze. However, then an unforeseen event occurred.
The elderly guy was unable to close his eyes and cease seeing the beast, despite his desire to do so. He thought, This is it. I’ll be eaten alive by the wolf.
However, the wolf refrained from exposing its teeth and lunging for his throat. The old guy could feel the warmth of its thick fur as it slowly drew closer and settled down next him.
After taking a big breath, the animal closed its eyes and stopped moving, just occasionally flicking its ears.
The old man initially found it hard to believe. The warmth emanating from the wolf’s side became palpable to him.
He crushed himself against the beast, half-dead and almost frozen.
And the wolf stayed. He was warmed by the wolf.
The two ancient creatures, who had discovered one another in the shadowy forest but had been forgotten by humanity, lay there like that all night.
