No one expects 16-year-old to sound just like Elvis Presley – then he takes the mic

Over the years, there have been several superstars that are extremely difficult, if not impossible, to match. You are aware of the types of individuals or bands I am referring to: Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Madonna, The Beatles, and of course, Elvis Presley.

The fact that these hitmakers’ songs are still as well-liked now as they were when they were originally released says a lot about their impact and enduring popularity.

The fact that people try to copy and cover these great artists’ works is also not all that shocking. After all, some people believe that it’s a very clever strategy to master your craft by imitating the best at it.

Of course, it’s not always easy to play a song like a legendary music business icon, even if you’re not as successful.

Now picture attempting to perform such a song in front of an audience in a packed arena.

Doesn’t that seem like a complete “no, thank you”?

For 16-year-old Benedikt Köstler of Germany, however, it was a necessary challenge to demonstrate his abilities to the world.

In any case, Benedikt opted to try to wow the judges by performing a cover of the late, great Elvis Presley’s “Always On My Mind” when he appeared on the German version of the hit show The Voice.

You’ll agree that it’s not an easy ballad to perform, but Benedikt was more than prepared for his big break.

The judges were so impressed by Benedikt’s tribute to one of the greatest musical legends in history that they all turned around and watched him finish the song after he hit their buzzer.

Even if the King is no longer with us, his memory will endure because of actors like young Benedikt.

Watch the video below to see Benedikt’s incredible performance:
