Before he returned to Strictly Come Dancing, Aljaz Skorjanec and his wife Janette Manrara welcomed their first child, Lyra, into the world in July 2023.
After bidding farewell to her infant daughter Lyra, who is leaving on a two-week trip with her father, Aljaz Skorjanec, Strictly star Janette Manrara has burst into tears. The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant acknowledged on Instagram that this would “be the longest she will be away from Lyra,” but she also said that “sharing is good, and it makes us all feel better.”
Along with admitting that she would keep going strong while spending time with her grandma and cousins, Janette also said she would count down till she saw Lyra again. A year after his wife Janette gave birth to their first child, Lyra, in July 2023, Aljaz left “Strictly” in 2022. In 2024, he made a comeback to the show for the 22nd season.
He added on the show, “I got to look after my beautiful wife, my beautiful baby for two years,” in reference to his two-year hiatus from “Strictly.” However, I missed every moment of “Strictly.”

Alongside Fleur East, Janette hosts the BBC Two spin-off of Strictly, It Takes Two. This year, she also hosted the Strictly Live! Tour, but there were some issues surrounding the event.
After it was revealed that opera singer Wynne Evans had made a sexually offensive remark during a photo call, he resigned from the “Strictly Come Dancing” live tour.
Later, it came to light that Wynne had made a private jest about host Janette using the sexually provocative term “spit roast.”

“My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise,” he subsequently said in an apology.
Due to an ankle ailment, Wynne was unable to dance on one night of the tour; however, the BBC executives were unaware of his remark and told Wynne that such behavior would not be accepted.
“We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints,” a BBC Studios representative stated at the time.
“We have communicated to Wynne that such conduct is not acceptable during the tour.”
