My sister stole my fiance a month before the wedding and my parents supported her – i visited her at her wedding…

I will always remember the day that was meant to be the happiest of my life. From soon-to-be bride, I became an undesired wedding guest who just came for retribution. However, Karma got there before me and beat me to it.

I was certain that I had discovered love when I first met Ethan two years ago. He knew just what to say to make me feel special, and he was hilarious and charming! I felt like the luckiest woman alive when he proposed to me seven months ago, but I had no idea that I would never be his wife.

Ethan’s involvement in everything was another quality I admired. We worked together to organize every aspect of our wedding! From the tumbling white roses and other blooms to the sophisticated garden and ballroom.

We selected the song we would dance to as husband and wife and tasted a variety of cakes before settling on the ideal one! Before everything came apart a month before the wedding, every moment seemed ideal, like something out of a fairy tale.

It took place on a typical Wednesday. In order to surprise Ethan with his favorite supper, I had left work early. Just a little something to let him know how much I valued him.

I opened his apartment, picturing the joyous grin on his face as soon as he spotted me with a bag of fries and hamburgers.

But I could sense a problem as soon as I entered.

The coat of a woman hung over the chair’s back. I initially believed he had a guest, either a relative or a colleague. However, my gut knotted as I heard soft laughing emanating from the bedroom.

With every step becoming more difficult, I made my way to the door. I reached for the handle with trembling hands and opened the door carefully.

Ethan lay there, entangled in the covers. with Lauren, my older sister!

As I struggled to make sense of what I was seeing, time appeared to stop. My sister, who was my biological relative, was having an affair with the man I would marry in a month!

Lauren let out a gasp and quickly covered herself, but Ethan? He appeared utterly unconcerned and simply sat up.

I managed to say, “Wait.” “What on earth is this?”

With a sigh, my alleged fiancé combed his hair as though I were the one acting irrationally. “This isn’t how you should find out.”

“Discover WHAT?!” With trembling voice, I yelled. “That you are a dishonest liar? That I been betrayed by my own sister?

Despite having a white face, Lauren remained silent. She simply clutched to the blankets and kept her eyes off of me.

However, Ethan said, “I love her,” looking me in the eyes.

His remarks left me speechless. He appeared relieved, as if a burden had been removed from his shoulders, but I wanted him to deny it and claim it was an error. It was unbelievable to me that the man I was about to marry was also having an affair with my sister!

“You adore her?” My voice cracked. “So why did you ask me to marry you?”

With a sigh, he seemed to clarify something that was clear. “I believed that I loved you. Then, however, everything was different. For a while now, Lauren and I have been dating.

For a while…

My stomach rumbled. This was not an isolated error. I had no idea how long they had been secretly cheating on me!

I looked across at Lauren. “How could you harm me like this?”

When she did speak, it was hardly more than a whisper. “Sis, that was never the plan.”

I gave a sour laugh. “Never thought of that manner! Lauren, you didn’t tumble into his bed by accident!

Ethan sprang to his feet and wrapped her in his arm. “Look, we didn’t want to lie to you any longer, but I know you’re hurt.”

I balled my hands into fists. “Oh, you had decided to stop lying? The limit is that!

Shaking with grief and rage, I stormed out. That struck me as the worst. I was mistaken.

My parents summoned me in for a conversation a few days later. Since the discovery, I had been crying almost constantly. I hadn’t heard from my parents till then, but my friends and bridesmaids came to console me.

I foolishly assumed that for once they would be on my side. Rather, I stepped straight into a trap.

My mother added, “We understand that you are hurt,” in an overly kind tone.

My father went on to say, “But Ethan and Lauren love each other.” “Will you actually stand in the way of true love?”

Stunned, I gazed at her. “Real love? Are you serious?

Mom let out a sigh. You’ve always been self-sufficient, honey. You’ll move past it. Lauren, however, requires stability. Ethan also brings her joy.

I thought I was going to drown. “So you’re just going to put her in my place? Pretend nothing occurred!

My father stated, “We’re not taking sides,” but his tone suggested that they were.

Then the last blow was delivered.

My mother said, “The wedding is still going on.” “The bride will be Lauren.”

I blinked. “You’re not serious.”

She clarified, “It’s all paid for,” as though that were a legitimate justification. “It would be unfortunate to waste all of those plans.”

One week prior to my planned proposal, my friend discovered the engagement ring. : r/mildlyinfuriating

My chair scraped the floor as I got to my feet. “Incredible.”

My dad added, “We wish you could be happy for her.”

I gave a sour laugh. “You think I’m going to celebrate?

As usual, my parents had supported Lauren after she had snatched my fiancé away from me.

I didn’t turn around when I left that house.

Naturally, I was not invited on the wedding day. But I still showed up in spite of that.
