The amount of constant pressure that most celebrities must endure throughout their life is beyond my comprehension.
It’s natural to receive criticism of one’s work, and sometimes it’s even acceptable. Just as performers occasionally have terrible nights, it goes without saying that no artist will ever produce something that is universally adored.
Even while it’s normal for fans to voice such views, I think we can all agree that in this day and age, we should be immune to trolling and personal attacks on the internet.
Unfortunately, we aren’t, and the internet has done a fantastic job of acting as a megaphone in a town square that can accommodate millions of people. In addition to the possibility of encountering irate fans in their daily lives, celebrities now have to deal with a deluge of comments if they choose to allow anyone access to their social media accounts.
Over the weekend, Halle Berry posted a beautiful naked photo of herself, which served as a reminder of exactly how cruel the internet can be.
Let’s just say that on Saturday, Halle Berry went viral on the internet by sharing a picture of herself standing on a balcony sipping a glass of wine while wearing—wait for it—nothing at all.
The 56-year-old Oscar-winning actress wrote, “I do what I wanna do,” as the description for the photo.
Even though a substantial portion of the comments were encouraging (people generally supported Berry), there were, of course, some unpleasant remarks as well.
Berry’s nude photo drew special criticism from one reader, who wrote: “Imagine being in your 50s and still posting nudes for attention during menopause when you should be spending time with your grandchildren.” It is no longer possible to age with dignity.
Now, considering that Berry has been a well-known celebrity for a long time, one could assume that she will just ignore her critics and treat them with the contempt they merit.
But it’s not the fabric that the Catwoman star is made of.
No, the Hollywood actress responded with a funny retort that her fans thought was amusing.
In her own retweet, the “Monster’s Ball” actress wrote, “Did you guys know the heart of a shrimp is located in its head?”
One Twitter user wrote, “As someone about your age, keep living your best life and sharing whatever the heck you want when you want.”
“Imagine getting mad because a beautiful woman is proud of her body, couldn’t be me,” said another commenter.
“You won the internet today with this clap back,” actress Audra McDonald wrote.

When narrow-minded potential bullies are put in their proper place, I personally love it.
