It’s true that soda tastes better in a glass bottle.
The best way to start a party on a hot summer day is sometimes to crack open a nice can (or bottle) of Coca-Cola. As much as you might not care much about how you drink your soda, it has been proven that it tastes better in a glass bottle.
Coca-Cola says that the recipe doesn’t change whether you drink it from a can or a glass bottle. However, it looks like the packaging may have something to do with it. Sara Risch, a food chemist, tells Popular Science that the polymers in the plastic, aluminum, or glass packaging can change the taste of the liquid when it mixes with them.
Risch also says that even though most businesses do their best to avoid situations like this, they still happen. Don’t worry about this or anything else! The FDA has rules about how these chemicals can combine with each other. It only makes the taste a little stronger.

A polymer that lines metal cans might, for instance, take in small amounts of soluble flavor from the soda. Popular Science says, “On the other hand, acetaldehyde in plastic bottles might get into the soda. To get Coke’s pure, unaltered taste, drink it from a glass bottle, which is the most inert material it comes in.”
That’s all there is to it! Soda in a glass bottle is the best.The Coca-Cola company has been around since 1886 and started changing the bottle design in 1894.
