PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive is revealed. And it may surprise you…

John Krasinski won the title of PEOPLE’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive with help from Stephen Colbert!

When the host of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert started the segment by giving it back to two previous recipients on Tuesday, November 12, the significant disclosure took place.

The sixty-year-old Colbert said, “I have had the great honor of announcing Paul Rudd and Chris Evans for their terms as PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive in recent years.” “Therefore, it is acceptable to say that no man is the most beautiful until he has seen these lips.”

“A sexy congrats to the very sexy John Krasinski,” Colbert remarked after announcing Krasinski, 45, as this year’s winner.

The Quiet Place star then came out from behind the stage to accept the award, wearing a gray fitted suit.

Following that, Krasinski played a funny ’80s-themed ad for “6 Simple Steps to Sexiness,” in which he gave Colbert advice on how to become PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive. Chris Evans, PEOPLE’s 2022 SMA, makes an unexpected appearance!

After putting Paul Rudd, a former Sexiest Guy Alive, through a battery of sexy guy tests, Colbert jokingly bestowed the title on him in 2021. Evans assumed the throne from Colbert following Rudd’s passing, wore it for a year, and then stepped down to make room for Patrick Dempsey to take over.

After being dubbed the sexiest man alive, Krasinski quipped in the most recent issue of PEOPLE that he had “zero thoughts” and a “immediate blackout.” Krasinski went on, “Perhaps I’m getting punked.” “I don’t wake up thinking about the prospect of being asked to be the most attractive man alive.” Nevertheless, you two accomplished it that day. For me, you’ve really raised the standard.

On weeknights, CBS broadcasts The Late Show with Stephen Colbert at 11:35 p.m. ET.
