Talented dancers from ballroom, tap, street, and Morris dance can be found online. You can still be surprised by some videos, though, and Lauren and Kaylee Thomas’ performance is undoubtedly one of them. They are clog dancers who have won championships. Ridge Runner Cloggers defines clogging as follows for those who are unsure:
“Clogging is a high-energy percussion-based dance form in which the dancer dons shoes with unique taps attached.” If you’re new to the popular sport of clog dancing, you should watch Lauren and Kaylee perform. The 2016 Clogging Champions of America Showdown of Champions is where the video below was shot.
Although the girls also participated in the traditional portion of the tournament, the film focuses on the modern portion. The two gals are amazing in this duet dance off!
Although they appear to be twins, Kaylee is actually two years older than Lauren. It’s simple to make a mistake because they are both blonde, adorable, and wear identical clothing when performing. Their feet move like lightning, which is another similarity between them!
Six pairs are waiting in line on stage for the dance-off when the video starts. When wearing glittery pants and black tops, Lauren and Kaylee look their most jazzy. Although there are other couples dancing, you can’t help but notice Lauren and Kaylee. Throughout their whole performance, they are in perfect harmony. Together, they spin, kick, and execute intricate arm twists. Their energy is simply astounding, and their routine is mind-blowing.
You won’t be shocked to learn that the females had competed before. Fifteen national championships have been won by them! Although they started out early, they don’t appear old enough to have won that frequently. Lauren began clogging at the age of three, while Kaylee was five. They were born in Berea, Kentucky.
They quickly demonstrated their talent and became competent enough to compete. They quickly advanced to national championships after winning all the local competitions. Unfortunately, we won’t see the girls competing abroad because clog dancing is exclusive to the USA, even though there are variations of the dance in many other nations. But in addition to their work, the girls do require some relaxation and education, so this might end up being a boon.
In addition to competitions, the girls made appearances on an upgraded version of The Gong Show and a Nickelodeon program called Figure It Out. For two girls who spent much of their lives as children, it’s quite a career. Many siblings wouldn’t get along well enough to train together for so long, but Lauren and Kaylee’s passion of dancing and strong sisterhood outweigh any arguments.
Although it appears likely that their lives may slightly diverge as they age, their shared dance background will undoubtedly keep them close. Check out the gifted pair’s performance to a Greatest Showman medley if you haven’t seen enough of them yet.
