Despite being a National Treasure and a member of one of Hollywood’s most illustrious families, this actor lives a “quiet, horrible nightmare” in his personal life.
The actor from Family Man, who once purchased a plane ticket for his child’s imaginary friend, is currently living in a “hostile environment” that his son’s ex-wife has created, preventing him from seeing his twin granddaughters, who are four years old.

This actor, who was just fifteen at the time, was sitting in a car with his uncle, a prominent Hollywood filmmaker, and pleaded with him for an opportunity to feature in one of his critically acclaimed films.
“I’ll demonstrate acting for you if you give me a screen test. On and off screen, the star is unashamedly weird. “There was just silence in the car,” she remarked.
The actor forged his own way to fame at the age of 17, landing a small part in the 1982 smash hit, the cult favorite about coming of age, Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
Nicholas Cage, who was born Nicholas Kim Coppola in 1962, claims that he was the target of jokes since his name was still Coppola.
Because of Apocalypse Now, people would not stop saying things like, ‘I adore the fragrance of Nicolas in the morning.’and it was difficult to work. I decided that I didn’t need this, so I changed it to Cage,” the actor says, removing the last name that linked him to his well-known relative Francis Ford Coppola.
He then goes on to explain his choice of Cage, saying, “It’s a blend of John Cage, the avant-garde musician, and Luke Cage from Marvel comics, who was a character I admired, also titled Power Man. It says a lot about what I’ve been doing ever since.
He claimed that the anonymity of his first major role, in which Cage was his last name, made him feel as though he “had this weight come off my body.” This was in the 1983 film Valley Girl.
“Whoa, I can pull this off. And that event gave me a sense of liberation,” he tells a Hollywood reporter. And you can tell that I’m free in Valley Girl. In reference to his role in his uncle’s 1983 picture Rumble Fish, he remarks, “Whereas in Fast Times, or even Rumble Fish, I’m somewhat stuck.”
Cage appeared in consecutive movies during the ensuing years, being known as one of Hollywood’s most sought-after performers.
He received Golden Globe nominations in 1988 for his roles in Honeymoon in Vegas with Sarah Jessica Parker and Moonstruck with Cher.
He also met actor Christina Fulton that year, and she gave birth to his first son, Weston Coppola Cage, in December 1990. Weston played his father’s younger self in the 2014 movie Rage.
Cage, who won an Oscar for his performance in Leaving Las Vegas in 1995, also has a daughter, August Francesca (born in 2022), with his fifth wife, Riko Shibata, and a son, Kal-El (Superman’s given name), born in 2005 with his third wife, Alice Kim.
In addition, Cage was notably married to Lisa Marie Presley (2002) and Patricia Arquette (1995–2001), with whom he filed for divorce a few months later.
Family comes “first and foremost,” according to the actor from The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, who spoke with People.
In real life, Nick Cage never shows a lack of desire to spend time with his kids.No Nick Cage has ever prioritized his family over his work, according to the Raising Arizona star.
“I turned down Lord of the Rings and I turned down Matrix because I needed to be at home with my son Weston, that’s a fact,” he continues. “I didn’t want to go to New Zealand or Australia for three years.”
“Was once on a plane with [Nicholas Cage] and his son and a seat had also been purchased for his son’s imaginary friend,” actor Minnie Driver once stated, providing evidence of it.
Cage, Weston Coppola
The Adaptation star still has a close relationship with his kids and two grandchildren, Weston and his second wife, Lucian (born 2014) and Sorin (2016).
Regarding Weston, the former frontman of two heavy metal bands, Cage remarked, “He can do things I dream about doing…compose music, sing, act, sculpt, and cook and now he is a loving father.” “I’ve never felt such a sense of blissful completion as I do when I see my son with my grandson.”
The 33-year-old D-Day actor has been married three times. He and his third ex-wife, Hila Arounian, have twin girls, Cyress and Venice, who were born in 2020.
However, none of their well-known Hollywood family members are familiar to the children.
According to TMZ, Hila was given “sole legal and physical custody of their twin daughters…with Weston getting no visitation rights” after an unpleasant divorce in 2021.
Hila has created a “hostile environment,” including “a request for a restraining order against her seeing the kids that was dismissed” in 2023, according to Weston’s mother Christina, who is sharing the upsetting details with the U.S. Sun.
As a sophisticated, deferential Hollywood family, we are horrified and outraged that Hila could act in such a manner. Not seeing these children is heartbreaking. Since the birth of our two adorable young grandchildren, Nicolas and I haven’t been able to see them at all,” Christina says of Hila’s “smear campaign” against her family. We’re in a terrible, silent nightmare. It’s crazy, excruciating, cruel, and destructive. My son has a lovely relationship with his boys, and I have a lovely relationship with my two young boy grandchildren.
“Not meeting the girls is shocking, painful, and hurtful,” Christina continues.
Hila posts a statement on Facebook in defense of herself, claiming that her ex had cheated on her multiple times and was “weaponizing influence, wealth,” turning “the legal system against” her.
In addition, she refers to Christina as a “sabotaging mother” and claims that Cage is a “enabling father” who “consistently hindered his progress,” alluding to Weston’s mental illness and addictions.
Hila merely states that Weston’s “behavior became a physical threat to our daughters and me, as well as our emotional well-being,” without mentioning that the family visitation with the twins was denied.
The Cage/Coppola family isn’t giving up, according to Christina: “Our family’s resilience is tested in these trying times.” However, we are still dedicated to conquering these obstacles and reestablishing peace within our family.
