One very remarkable individual is here to demonstrate that the adage “if you love what you do, you’ll never have to work a day in your life” is true.
For over 30 years, Lindon Beckford has been employed at a hospital. Transporting patients from the operating room to their ward is his responsibility. This may not seem like a very significant job, but after hearing what this incredible man does for the people he looks after, you will realize that he truly makes a big difference in their hospital stay and makes it as comfortable and peaceful as possible.
Since he is fully aware that these patients may experience anxiety and fear, he always goes above and beyond to make sure they feel better by making them smile.
He introduces himself to the patients as his first action. “I’m Lindon, and I’ll be your chauffeur,” he offers. He then begins to do what he enjoys and helps his patients enjoy it as well. To them, he sings. Many people are so moved by his generous deed that they are unable to contain their happiness.
He has been doing this for every patient for almost 31 years, which may surprise you.
Singing came easy to him when he first started working at the hospital, but he soon realized the impact it had on the frightened patients. Frequently, they begin to sing along, which is captivating to hear and observe.
It goes without saying that they all feel honored and unique. They find great meaning in temporarily putting their troubles out of their minds.
To perform what Lindon does, one truly needs to be exceptional. Without a doubt, the world needs more individuals like him.
