Mom of 4 carried away by hurricane in front of her family

More than ever, a family in Minneapolis, North Carolina, needs our prayers and thoughts as they deal with an unfathomable tragedy.

A loving mother of four, Melissa Guinn was sadly carried away by Hurricane Helene’s surging floods in front of her husband Jamie and their eight-year-old son River.

Seeing the damage caused by the recent hurricanes that have swept across the United States is incredibly upsetting. The combination of two extremely severe storms, Helene and Milton, that hit back-to-back has resulted in numerous fatalities and devastated homes.

The Guinn family evacuated their Minneapolis, North Carolina, home on September 27, but Hurricane Helene quickly destroyed their lives.

The family occupied a home with a river view, which would turn out to be terrible when the storm caused destructive mudslides. According to Fox News, the house started to fall as the storm got worse and tumbled down the hillside.

Tragically, Melissa Guinn, a four-time mother, passed tragically in front of her husband and their eight-year-old son, River.

It had the sound of a cannon going off. Jamie said WRAL, “I just remember being crushed by the house falling all around me.” And I still recall hearing my tiny boy scream as I screamed for him. I managed to locate him when we excavated through the home where it nearly fell into the river.

But Melissa had vanished from sight. “Baby, watch out!” was the last thing she said, echoing across the mayhem.

“Dad, I believe Mommy has left.”

Jamie bravely and desperately threw River onto a riverbed, away from the crumbling house. But Melissa was nowhere to be seen when they turned around.

Jamie recalled, “I ran right behind my little boy, calling out for my wife because I was losing my hearing.”

“He said, ‘Dad, I think Mommy’s gone,’ looking at me.”

Jamie claimed to have heard his wife cry from the location of their former house, but she quickly disappeared. Her spouse worries that she was pulled into the river by another mudslide.

Regretfully, the struggle was far from ended.

For several hours, Jamie and River had to make their way through mud, rushing water, and debris in order to find rescue. Jamie was hurt as well; he had a cut on his head and a damaged spine.

However, the bodily suffering was little compared to the devastating conclusion he had upon learning the unthinkable: his cherished spouse and his children’s mother had been discovered deceased. Ten days after the horrific tragedy, on October 7, investigators found her body.

The couple’s tenth wedding anniversary was just a few weeks away.

A caring mother and a committed wife

He remarked, “I don’t think I even comprehend.” “A part of me thinks I’m still processing everything that happened and in a state of shock. I believe I’m simply bringing everything to my attention.

River, Sebastian, Ethan, and Brandon were Melissa’s four sons, whom she leaves behind. She was a devoted wife and mother to them all.

“She was the best friend I’ve ever had.” Without her, I’m not sure how I’m going to survive. Every day was spent with each other. She was participating in all of my endeavors in the same manner as everyone else, Guinn said to Fox News.

Melissa was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend to everyone in her life, according to a GoFundMe page set up by one of Jamie’s coworkers. She was described as having the features of a really sweet soul—beautiful, strong, passionate, and giving.

Bless them, God! What an incredibly tragic tale!

I’m hoping they all find solace and tranquility!
