When the official “Dancing with the Stars” social media account revealed that Gene Simmons will be joining the show as a guest judge, some fans were thrilled and some were concerned.
Following Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong’s performance in the “Hair Metal Night” episode, Simmons commented, “Chandler, you fogged up my glasses.”
Simmons lauded the performance, saying, “You moved me, not just with your gyrations and so on, but your beautiful face and how you were into the emotion of it — top to bottom.”
A TikTok user posted the exchanges in which Simmons complimented Chandler and also offered comments on Danny Amendola and Witney Carson’s performances.
Famous rock singer admitted, “You know this is a brand new experience for me, and it’s difficult to look at both of you and to figure out which one is more hot, hot, hot.”

Simmons discussed Reginald VelJohnson and Emma Slater’s performance in a third video from the evening, which the same TikTok user also published. Simmons said, “You’ve got a beautiful woman right beside you, who can twist and turn and knows how to move it and, you know, all that.”
“I wanna tell you, as a guy that’s been on the stage for half a century around the world— I’m kind of a big deal, Reggie,” VelJohnson said in praise of Simmons. You have something in that lovely face, and it’s all in the attitude—they adore you!
Many expressed their irritation in the comments section underneath the videos, with one person calling Simmons’ remarks about the performers “creepy” and “ruining” the episode.
