Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are still deeply involved in a heated divorce dispute.
Although there aren’t many specifics available regarding the former power couple, sources have given the media more information about why their marriage failed.
The childhood nanny of Angelina Jolie, who asserts that the actress is demonizing Brad Pitt and using his kids as leverage in their ongoing argument, is a prominent voice in this story. As far as Jolie is concerned, her nanny Krisann Morel had a big impact on her life, at least from her perspective. She became a significant family member after providing early care for Jolie and developing a deep bond with her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who sadly died of cancer.
In 2010, Morel came to the notice of the public when Andrew Morton published an unofficial biography of Angelina Jolie.
The nanny made the decision to divulge her identity, in contrast to many anonymous sources mentioned in Morton’s book, offering a unique window into Jolie’s difficult upbringing. Her account presents a depressing picture of the actress’s formative years, replete with painful details.
was a renter in an apartment
When Jolie’s parents, Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand, split in 1976, it was the beginning of the unrest. The family was in chaos when Jolie’s father departed for a young acting student when she was just six months old.
“Back then, Jon Voight was an awful father to her. He had an affair with her mom. In an interview, Susan Margaret—the mother of Jolie’s childhood friend—stated that Marcheline was “broken-hearted.”
She claimed that Jon had mistreated her emotionally. He had a fascination for a Hollywood superstar, she said. With everything that was happening, Angelina found it impossible to grow up. She is really hostile toward her father,” the speaker went on.
In order to focus on raising Jolie and her older brother, James Haven Voight, Bertrand then gave up her own acting goals. Angelina grew up in a series of rented apartments all across New York City with her mother and brother.
“Child in Trouble”
In 2002, Angelina said, “We weren’t poor, but because I was an actor’s child, there was an idea that we had a lot of money.”
The family’s nanny, nevertheless, said that other problems were not as important as their financial ones.
Morel revealed that Bertrand was having emotional difficulties with her young daughter. Bertrand, according to the babysitter, could scarcely bear to look at Jolie because of how much she looked like her father. Because of the dire circumstances, Jolie’s mother sequestered her for two years in a different apartment in their building, where she was looked after by a shift of caregivers.
“Angie was a very troubled and lonely youngster in my eyes. Morel revealed to Daily Mail in 2016 that her mother had become worried her husband Jon was having an affair with Stacey even before she was born.
Originally intended for Jon’s production company, Angelina moved in with a group of nannies. Living three floors below Jolie, her mother rarely saw her small daughter.
The mother would occasionally come upstairs to sit with the nanny, drinking coffee and sobbing as she thought about her circumstances.
My heart just broke. I’m offended by it now. According to Morel in Angelina: An Unauthorized Biography, “I truly felt for that kid.”
Employed as a Weapon
According to Morel, Angelina and her brother James Haven were reared primarily by a group of nannies and frequently found themselves entangled in their mother’s problems. Morel claims that Angelina was regularly used as a weapon against their father, who was a womanizer.
Jon was painted as a villain, and Marcheline was successful in inciting opposition in both of his kids. However, it resulted in years of heartache and wounds that are still open today, Morel told Daily Mail.
Nanny Morel was concerned that Angelina may replicate her mother’s mistakes with Pitt after the turbulent “Brangelina” marriage. She drew attention to the startling parallels between Angelina’s precarious present circumstances and her own difficult upbringing at the time Bertrand cut off contact with Jon Voight.
Morel expressed her concerns by saying, “I want to tell her, please don’t take Brad away from the kids. Avoid using the kids as leverage in your divorce. Don’t demonize your spouse either. Because your mother broke up with your father by doing precisely that. You thus experienced a traumatized and lonely childhood. Why would you subject your children to the same tragedy?
Current Circumstance
Six children total—three adopted (Pax, Maddox, and Zahara) and three biological (Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox)—are the offspring of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. A contentious custody dispute has engulfed the former Hollywood power couple since their widely reported breakup in 2016.
The judicial proceedings have had many highs and lows over the years. Before Pitt was granted joint custody in May 2021, Jolie had sole custody at first. Nevertheless, this decision was eventually overturned after Pitt’s side was removed from the lawsuit by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge John W. Ouderkirk. His omission to disclose commercial ties to Pitt’s legal team raised questions about his impartiality.
Right now, Jolie is the one with primary physical custody of their children, while Pitt is granted “custodial time.” Still, it doesn’t seem like the situation is resolved.
Jolie filed paperwork with the Los Angeles Superior Court in April of this year, alleging that Pitt had physically abused her. Pitt has vehemently refuted this allegation.
According to reports, Vivienne, one of their children, has decided to formally delete the “Pitt” from her last name, and Shiloh, her sister, plans to do the same.
One of the couple’s three adopted daughters, Zahara, 19, has apparently embraced the name Zahara Jolie. Additionally, Maddox, 22, the oldest brother, does not use “Pitt” in his surname, according to TMZ sources.
This was more than just a name change for Brad; it represented a deeper divide that had been growing between him and his kids over time. The actor has reportedly been greatly affected by the breakdown of his relationships, as one insider tells Little Things: “Brad was devastated by this choice.”
His son Pax recently revived a critical post about Pitt from 2020 Instagram, which further worsened the situation.
Pax allegedly posted on his private Instagram account, “You have made the lives of those closest to me a constant hell.”
“You can tell the world and yourself anything you want, but eventually the truth will surface.”
“So Happy Father’s Day, you f*****g awful human being,” he said in closing.
A Sincere Request
Shiloh is the only child who has officially requested a name change as of yet, but the general consensus seems to be very apparent: despite the constant conflict between their parents, all of the children seem to be supporting their mother.
According to Krisann Morel, Angelina is still dealing with the effects of her abandonment, which are having an impact on both her and her kids’ life.
“This is a perfect replica of the past; I don’t know Brad Pitt, but he seems like a nice guy and he looks precisely like Jon. Angie has no idea what a typical family looks like. In 2016, she said, “Brad does; he came from one.”
“These children have had enough. Like her mother did with her father, Angie is attempting to break off their relationship. These kids travel so frequently that they don’t have any stability, and now she threatens to take away what little they do have.
