Mom obsessed with tanning looks totally unrecognizable today

Patricia Krentcil is a woman whose rise to fame was entirely undeserved. Her life was nearly lost due to her fixation with tanning. It was wearing on her because she used to go to the salon five days a week for tanning treatments.

Even though she was obsessed with achieving the perfect tan as a child, nobody really knew who she was until 2012. After Patricia was put on trial for bringing her daughter to the tanning salon, she went viral online.

She previously declared, “I’ve been tanning my entire life—going to the beach, tanning salons, and all that stuff.”

People didn’t care about what she did with herself, but Patricia was accused of endangering the welfare of her 6-year-old daughter after she suffered burns from an alleged tanning session, according to CBS New York.

Patricia refuted all allegations, claiming that she had never brought her daughter Anna to the salon. When questioned about the allegations, she responded, “No, not at all, not at all, not whatsoever.”

According to ABC, minors under the age of 14 are not allowed to use tanning services in New Jersey. Only with parental permission can children over 14 get tanned.

What then led folks to assume Patricia had brought Anna to the salon? In the event that a school nurse inquired about the minor burns on Anna’s body, the girl responded, “I go tanning with mommy.”

Patricia, however, said that when her daughter was playing outside in the sun, she developed sunburns.

“There’s not enough space… I’d never allow it to happen. It didn’t occur,” she declared. Patricia said, “She never went in,” back in 2012. “They entered the children’s pool since the weather was lovely. Her hair is red. She burned from the sun.

She is six years old. She goes tanning with her mother, yes, but not in the booth, she said. “This whole thing is absurd!”

Because of this incident, Patricia gained the moniker “Tan Mom.” Her visage was also often featured in publications and other media.

According to New York dermatologist Doris Day, who spoke to ABC News, “when you look at this, this is somebody who has a problem which most likely has a condition called tanerexia, where they just don’t realize just how much color they have.”

She continued, “There’s really no justification for taking a young child to a tanning salon.”

“We frequently compare visiting a tanning salon to smoking for our skin, and the earlier you start, the more cumulative those effects are.”

A number of well-known dermatologists took their time to educate the public of the harmful effects of excessive tanning, judging from Patricia’s post-tanning appearance.

Zeichner told the NY Daily News, “I have never encountered anything like this in all my years of treating patients as a dermatologist.”

“To be honest, going to a tanning parlor twenty times a month is crazy, especially in light of all the public awareness and education campaigns about the risks of tanning beds and skin cancer.”

It’s possible that she suffers from tanorexia, an actual term for her [obsession with] tanning. He continued, “She might require assistance in treating not just the skin problems but also her psychological issues.

Patricia was exonerated of all charges in 2013, but her parenting style continued to be criticized by many.

Patricia was negatively impacted by the public and media pressure, and she began to drink. In the end, the family made the decision to relocate from New Jersey to Florida in an effort to start again.

She eventually came to the conclusion that she could exploit her notoriety to earn some cash. With five children and an unemployed spouse, she revealed her plans to write a book and act in a biographical film. In addition, she asserted that numerous offers for modeling jobs were present.

In reference to her time in the spotlight, she added, “It’s not even close to being over.” “I’m wanted by all.” I’m just trying to decide where to move my family because I have a lot of other chances.

After experiencing cardiac arrest in 2019 and being diagnosed with acute pneumonia, pancreatitis, and an infection that spread to her lungs, Patricia came dangerously close to death.

Her system is being severely impacted by the powerful antibiotics they are giving her to treat the illness as well. She demonstrated last night that she will only get better, which in my opinion was the most significant turning point. As long as Patricia continues on this course, the current strategy is to attempt to extubate and resuscitate her tomorrow or Tuesday, Patricia’s friend Adam Barta told US Weekly back in 2019.

Fortunately, Patricia is doing well and that is all in the past now.

She just shared a fresh photo of herself, displaying the scars from her tanning days rather clearly.

She didn’t completely give up tanning, though. She claims that she still uses her own tanning bed to get tan twice a day.

Even though she used to get upset when others called her “Tan Mom,” she no longer finds that to be bothersome.

“I’m not bothered by it anymore. In April 2021, Patricia clarified to The Post that it is two different people. “There’s Patricia Marie, mom, and there’s Tan Mom, celebrity.”
