Following a stormy period characterized by persistent rumors and well known fights, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are apparently nearing the end of their divorce. After rekindling their romance in 2021 and being married two years ago, the pair has made several attempts to get over their problems, but they have not been able to do so.
Reportedly, Affleck’s acquisition of a $20.5 million Pacific Palisades residence, nicknamed a “bachelor pad,” was the last straw. This action followed Lopez’s $23 million sale of her New York City apartment, which indicated a dramatic change in their relationship’s dynamics. In addition, the couple put their joint Beverly Hills property up for sale for $68 million, stoking speculation about their eventual split.
Lopez celebrated her birthday and their anniversary separately, underscoring the couple’s growing isolation from one another, despite reports that their attempts to save their marriage had failed. Lopez was said to have been very saddened by Affleck’s choice to buy a new house without consulting her, calling it a “stab in the heart.”
