Recently, Mark Harmon was photographed looking almost completely different, right before Disney revealed that he would be making a comeback in the much awaited Freaky Friday 2.
In 2025, Harmon, who is already 72 years old, will reteam with Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan in the follow-up to the body-swap comedy from 2003.
Disney released the first behind-the-scenes image from the project on Monday. It features Curtis and Lohan, who are returning to their roles as Tess and Anna Coleman, the mother-daughter combination, joyfully standing hand in hand on set during the first day of filming.
In addition, Lohan shared a number of video snippets from the Freaky Friday 2 set on Instagram, highlighting her happy reunion with Curtis. The post was captioned, “We’re back!” by her.
Curtis captioned the video montage she posted with her followers, “FREAK OUT TIME.”
Meanwhile, Harmon was seen doing errands in Los Angeles. Harmon is returning to the character of Ryan, Anna’s stepdad, in the upcoming film. Compared to his time on the CBS crime series NCIS, he appeared far more relaxed.
On Monday, the U.S. Sun published pictures of the actor with scruffy hair while he visited the hip Erewhon Market. He was walking down the street in shorts, flip-flops, and a button-down shirt, squinting in the strong sun.
Additionally, he appeared on the red carpet recently, and it appeared that he had adopted a more laid-back appearance since departing his position as Leroy Jethro Gibbs, a former Marine Corps sniper who became a special agent, in October 2021.
Alongside other well-known actors including Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao, Harmon will make appearances in Freaky Friday 2. In addition, new actors Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons will make their film debuts in the sequel.
Fans of the original film are excited about the reunion of the iconic cast. Particularly, the reunion between Curtis and Lohan has been highly anticipated. Social media posts from Curtis showed her excitement, and Lohan’s happiness to be back on set with her on-screen mother was as apparent.
Released in 2003, the first Freaky Friday quickly gained cult status due to its poignant and humorous moments. With the return of beloved characters and the addition of fresh personalities to the dynamic cast, the sequel seeks to recreate that enchantment. Although the plot is still unknown, the presence of the original cast members implies that the sequel would maintain the spirit of the previous movie while introducing new twists and turns.
After spending a considerable amount of time on NCIS, Harmon’s return to the big screen in such a beloved franchise is a momentous occasion in his career. Viewers can’t wait to watch how Ryan, his character, has changed and what new dynamics Tess, Anna, and Ryan will have!
