Miranda Lambert mourning two rescue dogs who died within 6 weeks: “two of the best and most loyal friends”

Losing two pets in a short period of time is an emotional roller coaster that no one wants to experience. Bidding a pet farewell is one of the hardest things in the world.

Miranda Lambert, a well-known country music artist, recently revealed the devastating news that two of her rescue pets died within six weeks of one another.

She used her sorrow as a chance to promote dog rescue; continue reading to see her moving ode:

The 40-year-old singer of “House that Built Me” revealed on social media that she had recently bid farewell to two of her rescue animals, Great Pyrenees Louise and Chihuahua-pug mix Delta Dawn.

Peace be with you, Louise and Delta Dawn

Two of my closest and most devoted friends have passed away over the past six weeks, Lambert posted on Instagram.

“One of those dogs that you only get once in a lifetime,” was how she put Delta Dawn. In 2009, she discovered Delta at an Oklahoma Sonic. Lambert remembered her as having a lot of personality despite being hungry and destitute.

She dove into my car as soon as I opened the door. I had no idea that I would run into one of the most incredible dogs I have ever met while merely attempting to purchase a cherry limeade. She was on practically every tour I’ve ever been on, and we spent nearly 16 years together. It’s a pleasure to have met her and get so much knowledge from her.

Delta Dawn died on April 22, 2022. Just a few weeks later, Lambert had to say goodbye to Louise, another of her rescue dogs, as if that grief wasn’t enough.

In 2016, Lambert took Louise and her sister Thelma in from a shelter. They soon established themselves as Lambert’s Nashville farm’s guard dogs.

Lambert writes, “They felt right at home the day I brought them to the farm.” “I needed the protection of my mini horses, chickens, and goats for the other animals. And they did a fantastic job of it.

When Lambert announced Thelma’s passing in July of last year, she said it “hurts so bad to say goodbye.” Almost a year later, Louise has crossed over to join her dog sister across the rainbow bridge. Lambert will never forget the two dogs that won her over.

“My heart has been completely taken by the Pyrenees. loving, compassionate, understanding, vigilant, guardians to the very end. Every day, I aim to become more like them. There are numerous types of rescues, everyone. All you need to do is let your heart open and prepare yourself for the love they will give.

“The strength of a comeback”

As Lambert laments the passing of these two cherished companions, she also took the opportunity to draw attention to the transformational potential of dog rescues, highlighting “the power of a rescue and what they can do to a heart.”

“I want everyone to know that I am an advocate for animal rescue because I am a living example of it, and I am grateful for these creatures in my life every single day. And then there are days, like today, when I can’t believe I lost them. You have to hurt this much in order to love this much. They are worthwhile.

“This is my heart song to you, as overcrowding affects shelters around the nation. Think about volunteering, fostering, or rescue. You never know what kind of blessing you might find there.

“Please keep in mind to think about bringing home a shelter pet to be a part of those memories this summer while you are at home in your backyards with your families. Your life will be improved by them.
