Ricki Lake , Former Talk Show Host, Shares Inappropriate Photo Of Her To Celebrate ‘Best’ Days Of Her Life

These are the “best” times in Ricki Lake’s life right now.

The former talk show host shared a selfie of herself on Instagram on Monday, exposing not only her skin but also her feelings.

In the picture, Lake, 54, is seen sitting in an outdoor pool surrounded by tall redwood trees while completely nude and grinning.

“These days are the best of my life, without a doubt,” she wrote.

“Age of 54 1/2 (young!) Happy that everything that needed to happen to get me here has happened. a location of total self-love and acceptance. ♥️,” she went on.

Although Lake started her path toward self-love in 2019, she didn’t reveal it to the public until 2022.

In December 2022, she uploaded an unreleased video of herself shaving her head.

The video from this year, 2019. In the caption of the video, she disclosed that androgenetic alopecia, the cause of her hair loss, has been her battle for thirty years.

“For those of you who have followed my story and have been invested in it, I felt like I wanted to share this raw video footage now,” Lake captioned the photo. “I want you to know that I genuinely feel you, especially since some of you know my struggle all too well.”

“You can see me reach a state of liberation, peace, and most importantly, self-acceptance and love for myself in this video.”

After shaving her head, Lake’s hair has grown back in, and she now accepts that she has a “natural gray and sometimes wild unruly head of hair.”

“May everyone who is facing difficulties find serenity and acceptance as well. Life is far too fleeting.

Though some people think the image is improper, she is refusing to back down.

A user commented, “That’s all well and good, but why do we have to see it, just wondering,” while another said, “I don’t get why anyone has to show themselves like this! LOL.” Thus, it seems incredibly strange to me to post a picture of oneself that is essentially nude online. Just my viewpoint.

None of these remarks elicited a response from her, but it didn’t seem to concern her. We may, after all, choose to follow the creators we admire and respect their right to post anything they want.

What are your thoughts on her choice to publish this online?

We believe that her main issue is an important one to emphasize! We waste time worrying about things that are out of our control. We need to learn how to love and accept ourselves, faults and all!
