Prince Harry has become a global celebrity following the publication of his autobiography, Spare.
He shared details of his life as a working royal and the events he claims included some of his closest family members. He also spoke at length about his upbringing, his time in the military, and the loss of his mother, Princess Diana.
Harry also shared more details about his friendship with Meghan Markle’s family, including information about their first child, Archie.
Despite their clear love of the spotlight, Harry and Meghan have made an effort to provide their children with a more secluded upbringing thus far. Archie and his sister Lilibet haven’t shown very often as a result.
The Netflix documentary The Sussexes, which aired in December, featured several personal exchanges between Harry, Meghan, and their children.
Additional intimate details were disclosed by Harry in the book Spare. Interestingly, this also covers his actions throughout Meghan’s pregnancy with Archie. It is said that he used narcotics!
The British tabloid press has taken an interest in the couple since they began dating. That’s hardly surprising, considering how engaged the other half of the world seems to be in what they are doing.
Harry was “obsessed” with Archie’s privacy.
Meghan Markle was already well-known from her appearance in the television series Suit, so her news that she would be joining the British Royal Family created quite a stir.
Archie, the couple’s kid, was welcomed at Portland Hospital in London on May 6, 2019. It was a momentous occasion, as with the birth of any royal child, but Harry and Meghan handled things differently.
Katie Nicholl, a royal analyst, claims that Harry was reportedly worried with keeping his son’s birth story a secret from the press. In her book The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown, Nicholl described Harry as “almost morbidly obsessed” with keeping Archie’s birth as secret as possible.
However, the majority of the public and millions of followers were eager to learn more about the little child, thus the demand for secrecy was dismissed as a breach of the “unwritten contract between the royals and the public.”
Rebecca English said, “Behind the scenes, matters were so fraught that more than one official was reduced to tears of frustration and despair— as I know from personal experience.”
When a royal baby is delivered, the parents are usually shown with their newborn on the hospital stairs. After the pictures are taken, the proud parents usually answer a few questions before heading back out of the room.
Katie Nicholl claims that Harry and Meghan made the decision to handle the birth of their kid in a different way. Rather than going straight at the media, they played reporters and photographers.

Because Prince William, Harry, and William’s children were all born at St. Mary’s Hospital, the traditional first baby photos were also taken there. However, Meghan’s doctor worked at Portland Hospital as a staff member. It made sense to give birth there as a result. The Sussexes were also advised that due to security concerns at the entrance, no pictures would be permitted.
Nicholl stated in his book The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Crown’s Future that Harry has “always enjoyed outfoxing the media.”
“Even before the palace press office had verified the duchess was in labor, he and Meghan were ecstatic to witness the safe delivery of their son in London’s private Portland hospital.”
Meghan acknowledged in their Netflix documentary series that she had been worried about what might happen on the day her baby boy was born.
“The image was already exerting strain on the stairs. However, because I’m older and I didn’t know if I would need a c-section, I had been quite anxious before that labor. I also trusted my doctor with my pregnancy because of our long-standing friendship, the woman added.
However, two days later, Harry and Meghan agreed to take part in a brief picture session during which one reporter was permitted to ask questions.
Despite the fact that everything seemed to be in order, their hospital stay had actually been quite dramatic. At least from Harry’s most recent novel, Spare.
Archie got caught up in a major family dispute before he could even walk or talk. Everything started with his mother, Meghan, candidly discussing her experiences and hardships during her time living in the UK in the well-known Oprah Winfrey interview.
She also disclosed other details concerning the Firm, like the fact that Harry’s calls to Prince Charles at the time were unanswered.
The most shocking part, though, was Meghan’s allegation that there had been conversations inside the palace over Archie’s prenatal dark complexion.
“They were worried that there might be an issue if he was too brown.” Meghan was asked by Oprah.
Meghan answered, “I wasn’t able to follow up with why.” “However, that seems like a pretty safe assumption if that’s what you’re making.”
By the time Harry and Meghan’s royal obligations officially ended on March 31, 2020, Archie had already arrived. The family now has four members when Lilibet, their daughter, was born in 2021.
At their Montecito, California, residence, Harry and Meghan provided a close-up view of their family life in the first episode of the Netflix documentary. Their home has earned the moniker “Fort Knox,” and as such, security is strictly enforced.

Through the documentary, Harry and Meghan let royal admirers from all over the world to see their estate for the first time. It was there that viewers found Archie and Lilibet.
Regarding their kids’ public appearances, Harry and Meghan have been incredibly discreet. Although Archie and Lilibet have only shown in a small number of pictures, the public has now had a closer look at them.
Even though the documentary deals with more depressing topics, three-year-old Archie steals the show with his frequent appearances. Furthermore, spectators got to hear him talk for the first time.
From the patio of Prince Harry and Archie’s Montecito home, Meghan captured a sweet moment of them birdwatching.
Meghan observed hummingbirds close to their house, so Harry, an enthusiastic bird watcher, advised his son to be calm and just enjoy the sounds of nature.
Harry said to Archie, “We won’t get to be this close to hummingbirds ever again.”
The exact opposite was done by Archie, who was just three years old at the time. Just moments after his father had instructed him to keep quiet, he started acting very raucous.
Archie added, “I’ve got a dirty foot mama because I was with you,” to which his parents chuckled.
Meghan answered, “You’ve got a dirty foot, sweetheart.” “This is a really big moment for Papa because he loves to watch birds.”
Their son was shown a photograph of Diana.
The video also featured a few personal family images of Harry and Meghan along with Archie. In one of the clips, Lilibet’s father pushes her in a pram as Archie sprints up a hill.
Another picture of the royal couple features Harry snuggling under an umbrella with Archie, who is wearing a knitted hooded jacket with bear ears.
There are other pictures that come after, one of which shows Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland and the other of Archie and Meghan tending to their hens.

Diana was mentioned in passing in the Netflix documentary, and not just because of Harry’s recollections of her. In a heartbreaking moment, Meghan can be seen holding Archie in front of a photo of Diana while describing who she is.
Other heartwarming images from the documentary showed Archie curled up on Meghan’s belly during Lilibet’s pregnancy. The most adorable picture of them all, though, shows Archie sitting on Harry’s shoulder in a lovely father-son moment while sporting a blue hat and blue Crocs.
There was also more brief footage of Archie in the documentary. It depicts a gorgeous sunset seen from the Sussexes’ patio while Meghan asks Archie what’s on his mind.
“Well, it’s finished, lovely,” he replied. Archie’s accent is distinctly American.
Perhaps it should come as no surprise that Archie is speaking. But the tone of Archie’s remarks angered a lot of admirers. Fans couldn’t help but notice that the little child, who has lived in the US for some time, now has an American accent.
A user on Twitter said, “Not the cutest American accent, Archie.”

Scholars have already discussed the issue of Archie’s accent. He will, however, sound American rather than British because he is residing in the country and interacting with neighborhood kids.
On the other hand, there have been stories of children living in the US who had relatives in the UK who switched accents when they crossed the Atlantic.
Linguist and retired professor of general linguistics at the University of Edinburgh Geoffrey Pullum predicts that Archie’s accent will change with maturity.
“A Californian US accent will develop in Archie if his first socialization experience is in a Los Angeles preschool,” Pullum stated.
“In California, he might pick up an American accent, but when he goes to England, he could be able to switch to a British one,” Boston University emerita professor of language acquisition Berko Gleason said.

At least for Harry, the start of their fatherhood was somewhat dramatic, but he and Meghan are busy raising their kids and juggling other career-related commitments.
Harry criticized many family members and emphasized other aspects of his life—such as the day his mother, Princess Diana, passed away in a tragic car accident—in his book Spare.
That being said, there were some more enjoyable recollections that the Prince brought back.
Harry told Spare about the weird experience he had in Portland Hospital, when he decided to take laughing gas to help him relax.
Still, I saw two methods to improve my composure. One: Our security delivered Nando’s chicken. Second: A laughing gas canister next to Meg’s bed. I was struck numerous times, slowly and deeply.
Harry wrote in his autobiography.
Meg seemed so at ease. I was also at ease.
“Meg laughed and rolled her eyes, bouncing on a giant purple ball, a proven way to give nature a push,” he continued. After taking a few more blows, I started to bounce as well.
Harry then disclosed that he had previously ingested all of the gas that the nurse had attempted to administer to his wife in order to relieve her agony.
