Some things, like hearing someone say “I’m sorry,” usually signal that they are apologizing in advance for something unpleasant. This is one of those things that makes us brace ourselves for terrible news!
In the worst of circumstances, when someone uses it, it becomes kind of a buzzword since there’s a very high chance that something profound will occur as a result!
Approximately six years ago, Jodi Parry and her partner Matt heard those words in the hospital. Their hearts practically lept, fluttered, and then missed many beats!
This was their second attempt at parenthood, and although they were both nervous about it, they were also rather happy about it. Having welcomed a healthy son into their family, they were thrilled to welcome two tiny daughters into the world!
Unfortunately, though, as the stress increased and the births eventually happened, uncertainty would catch up with them and their pleasure would suffer!
In a short conversation, the doctor led the couple into a tiny waiting area, warning them that things would go out of control. He began:
“I apologize.
When the doctor stated that the two girls, Abigail and Isobel, had been diagnosed with an illness that would afflict them permanently, they were absolutely taken aback and found it difficult to comprehend what was happening to them and what it would imply. The Down syndrome…
Even though they already had a wonderful little boy named Finlay, they had been trying for another child for a long time. Not long after Finlay was born, Mom Jodi tragically lost her pregnancy, but she believed she was ready for anything!
Regretfully, she was unprepared for this even though the doctor’s remarks stunned her!

The situation was becoming worse by the time the two girls were born early and had to spend a full four weeks in the intensive care unit.
Jodie mentioned:
It was not a day I felt like a mother. I simply felt perplexed and lost. My outlook on the future was gloomy. Until we passed away, I believed we would be caregivers.

The young girls were born with numerous health problems, according to the doctors. Abigail is deaf in one ear and on one side, while Isobel has a hole in her heart.
Matt and Jodi had no choice but to move forward and take action once the situation’s reality set in, even if none of what they were hearing was actually what they wanted to hear.
What’s even more tragic is that not much was known about kids with Down syndrome, including the fact that they could lead regular lives just like other kids and everyone else.

This implied that Matt and Jodi were terrified about how their lives would turn out.
Their girls’ ability to speak or even be able to attend school like regular kids was unknown to them!

Abigail and Isobel got along just fine with lots of love and affection from those closest to their family, despite the sympathy and sympathy shown for the children by some.

“The doctor expressed regret that Abigail and Isobel had Down syndrome as he led us to one side to get the results. I’ll never know what he apologized for to this day.
And I believe that if I were ever to see him again, I would show him Abigail and Isobel and ask him, ‘Why did you say that you were sorry? Because we wouldn’t alter Abigail and Isobel for anything.'”
Six years after the girls were born, their ignorance and narrow-mindedness have shown the true prejudices in the world!

With such a beautiful family, is there anyone with the slightest possible doubt that they are content? No one at all!

Regardless of your circumstances or what society says about you, you are capable of experiencing far more happiness than you may realize.
