Ukrainian national Valentina has always dreamed of starting a family.
But destiny had other ideas, and she struggled to conceive for a very long time.
In order to find out if she still had a chance to become a mother, Valentina decided to take a chance when she turned 60 and go to a family planning facility.
After receiving support from the center, Valentina started to raise money for the treatment.
She took three years to eventually reach the necessary savings.
The retired woman learned of her upcoming pregnancy in the summer of 2010.
Her child, Anna-Maria, was born in 2011. To everyone’s surprise, the baby was born fully-term and healthy.
The entire hospital staff complimented Valentina.
Reporters then clamoured for an interview with this exceptional mother who had raised a child successfully at such an advanced age.
However, Valentina wished to maintain the anonymity of both herself and her daughter.
She thus stopped returning calls and put a lock on her door, even for close friends.
Four years later, she agreed to a televised interview when she confessed that many people coveted her circumstances, making it difficult for her to take criticism from both close friends and complete strangers.
Anna-Maria, at 12 years old, is a brilliant student who succeeds in her academics.
She already takes good care of the domestic chores for her elderly mother.
